Norline and engitec are merging – on their way to becoming Switzerland’s leading building services provider

Stronger together

  • Norline and engitec complement each other perfectly – Norline is expanding its range to include photovoltaics, whilst engitec will be able to serve additional and larger clients in future
  • The partners’ aim is to jointly develop into the leading Swiss provider of all services relating to building services engineering
  • Ferro Fabrikation und Montagen has also joined the group this year, expanding the joint offering and the target customer groups

All companies will retain their names, their teams and their operational independence

Glattbrugg/Winterthur, 18 September 2026 – engitec AG, based in Winterthur, is joining forces with Norline AG. Norline is a leading Swiss provider of building services. Ferro Fabrikation und Montagen had already joined forces with Norline in April 2026. Together, the partners aim to continue their growth trajectory, expand their respective service offerings and develop into the leading Swiss provider of all services relating to building services engineering.

engitec supports private and commercial customers from the planning stage through to the installation and maintenance of solar systems, energy storage systems, charging infrastructure and electrical installations, as well as their ongoing operation. In future, the business involving larger commercial photovoltaic systems in particular is to be expanded in collaboration with Norline.

Complementary service offering

Norline and engitec have been working in partnership for several years and are implementing joint projects. Their service offerings complement each other perfectly: whilst Norline supports installers and building services engineering firms in, amongst other things, replacing fossil fuel-based heating systems with modern, sustainable solutions such as heat pumps, engitec contributes comprehensive expertise in photovoltaics, energy storage and charging infrastructure.

“Our aim is to become Switzerland’s leading one-stop shop for building services. To this end, we are joining forces with other strong companies. Together, we are expanding our expertise, tapping into new customer groups and creating additional opportunities for growth – without sacrificing the operational independence of the individual companies,” says Nicolas Scherrer, CEO of Norline. “engitec is a perfect fit for us. We have known the company and the team for a long time and know that we are a good match both professionally and personally. At the same time, we can support engitec in growing much faster through our market presence.”

Remaining independent, growing together

For engitec, the merger does not entail any fundamental change to its existing business model. The company will remain operationally independent under its existing name and with its existing team; all 28 employees will remain on board. For customers and business partners, engitec will continue to be the direct contractual partner and point of contact. Existing service contracts and warranties will remain unchanged, and invoicing and customer support will continue to be handled by engitec.

“It was crucial for us that we could retain our operational independence and our way of working as part of the merger with Norline,” says Severin Bäuerle, Managing Director of engitec. “We know that Norline embodies exactly that. We can continue to run our day-to-day business independently, but will have a strong and reliable partner behind us in future. This opens up entirely new growth opportunities for us, particularly in the commercial large-scale plant sector.”

Merger with Ferro in April 2026

Norline has been in the market for 40 years and, with more than 250 employees and around 2,000 customers today, is Switzerland’s largest provider of outsourcing services in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and plumbing (HVAC&P) sector. The company has set itself the goal of becoming the leading Swiss service provider for building services engineering, in collaboration with the right partners.

As part of this strategy, Norline had already merged with Ferro Fabrikation und Montagen in April 2026. The Döttingen-based company specialises in welding, fabrication and installation work and has a pool of qualified specialists from across Europe who can be deployed according to project requirements. The merger enables both companies to reach new customer groups and offer additional services.

Engitec and future partners also benefit from the complementary offerings and expertise of the other companies within the network, including, for example, Ferro. This enables them to offer additional services and reach new customer groups, whilst remaining operationally independent.
